The Act Resilient Method
The Act Resilient Training Method has been presented to over 4,000 Active Duty and Veterans. For this work, we were given President Obama's Volunteer Service Award. We use interactions with animals and other methods to help restore resilience and well being.

Act Resilient has been given an over 80% success rate by participants in reducing the symptoms of stress and trauma.

Act Resilient uses a variety of methods, Improv Comedy, laughter therapy, emotional flexibility skills, expressive arts, and animal-assisted therapy. Even one session improves morale and well-being.

Below is a summary of a research evaluation of a ten-week Act Resilient Program at Pearl Harbor / Hickam Air Force Joint Base in Hawaii with veterans and active duty.

The Red lines indicate stress levels walking into class each week, as many were walking into class directly from the field of duty. The Blue line indicates the stress level at the end of a two-hour class. The final week, they were self-reporting zero stress levels as they had learned to manage their own stressors.

This study was done by psychology graduate student, David Begg from Tripler Army Medical Center.
